Jeff Carter scored two goals in the second period, giving the Los Angeles Kings a 3-0 lead over the Phoenix Coyotes after the second period of Game 2 of the NHL Western Conference Finals at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
The Kings lead the best-of-seven series 1-0 and are 20 minutes away from a commanding 2-0 lead and their ninth consecutive road playoff victory, dating back to last season.
Things got a little chippy in Glendale, as Coyotes captain Shane Doan was given a five-minute game misconduct and ejected for boarding at 16:29 of the second period. Carter capitalized with a power play goal with 1:11 remaining in the period, though the goal was originally credited to Anze Kopitar.
