The Los Angeles Kings haven't yet lost this season on the road during the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, and look for more of the same during Game 2 of their NHL Western Conference Finals series with the Phoenix Coyotes. Dwight King continued to terrorize Phoenix with a first period goal Wednesday night to give the Kings a 1-0 lead after the first period.
Like they have in pretty much every game during the postseason, the Kings were the aggressors in the first period on Tuesday. The Kings had 15 shots on goal, compared to just nine for the Coyotes. Phoenix goalie Mike Smith saved 14 of 15 shots for the Coyotes. Jonathan Quick saved all nine shots for the Kings.
The Kings were 0-for-2 on the power play in the opening 20 minutes. Phoenix was 0-for-1 with a man advantage.
The Kings have won all six of their road games so far during this postseason, and have won eight straight playoff contests away from home, dating back to last season.
