Kings Vs. Oilers Final Score: L.A. Gains Two Points With 2-0 Shutout Win

Slava Voynov's goal 34 seconds into the third period broke a scoreless tie and lifted the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers Monday night at Staples Center. The Kings were the only Pacific Division team in action on Monday night, and are now two points ahead of the Phoenix Coyotes. Los Angeles has two games remaining in the season, while Phoenix has three.

The Kings are seeking their first division crown since 1991. Jonathan Quick recorded his 10th shutout of the season by saving all 19 shots he faced.

Los Angeles was able to get constant pressure on Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk, outshooting Edmonton 14-8 in the first period and 14-6 in the second period. But the score remained deadlocked at 0-0 after two periods. The Kings outshot the Oilers 37-19 on the night.

The Kings were 2-1-1 against the Oilers this season.

The Kings have two days off before hosting the Sharks on Thursday, followed by a road contest in San Jose to end the regular season.
