Kings Vs. Canucks, NHL Playoffs 2012, Game 1: Los Angeles Wins 4-2, Goes Up 1-0

The Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks were tied 1-1 after one period, and 2-2 after two periods, but they finally put the exclamation point in the third period by landing two goals. Mike Richards and Jeff Carter helped set up Dustin Penner for the go-ahead goal to put them up 3-2 16:46 into the third.


Dustin Brown then got a late goal in the final few seconds on an empty net to secure the Game 1 victory.

Jeff Carter and Mike Richards logged two assists apiece, and Drew Doughty, Alec Martinez, Justin Williams and Anze Kopitar each had one assist each.

Game 2 will be taking place Friday night in Vancouver.
