The Los Angeles Kings opened up their four-game road series on Tuesday night on the right foot. They went toe-to-toe with the hometown Nashville Predators and came out on top, thanks in part to Justin Williams and in part to a pair of quick third period goals.
Williams scored twice in the first period, at 6:16 and 18:53. His second goal of the evening was his 15th of the season. Drew Doughty scored at 12:21 in the second period, but a pair of Predators goals in the period knotted the score at 3-3.
The difference ended up being two goals that the Kings scored within the first three minutes of the final period. Matt Greene scored his fourth goal of the season at 1:15 and Trevor Lewis added his third of the season at 3:00. The Predators would add another goal in the third period, but the Kings were able to hold on for the win.
With a Phoenix Coyotes loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, the Kings are now in third place in the Pacific Division with 74 points, just one point behind the 'Yotes
