Kings Vs. Wild: Los Angeles Manages 4-0 Road Win

It seems like the latest fad for the Los Angeles Kings is to score four goals in a game, then one, then four again. On Tuesday night, they topped the hometown Minnesota Wild and picked up the 4-0 win to once again keep pace in the playoff hunt.

In contrast to the last four-goal game from the Kings, which featured a hat trick by Dustin Brown, Tuesday's goals came from four different Los Angeles players...none of whom were Brown. The flurry started early, as three of the four goals all came in the first period. Justin Williams scored his 13th goal of the season just 44 seconds into the game, which would be the only offense the Kings would eventually need. Still, Dwight King and Anze Kopitar added first-period goals and Alec Martinez put a cherry on top with a goal in the second period.

It clearly was not Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom's night, as the Kings only took 15 shots on goal, but Backstrom only saved 11 of them.

The Kings have 70 points, tying them with the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche for the No. 8 playoff slot in the Western Conference.
