The Kings are 0-2-1 against the Avalanche this season.

The Los Angeles Kings look to snap a three-game losing streak Wednesday night as they battle the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center in Denver. The Kings are currently in eighth place in the Western Conference, thanks to losing seven of their last nine contests, scoring just 14 goals during that span.

The Kings (27-21-12) are last in the NHL in goal scoring, averaging just 2.07 goals per game. To make matters worse, they allowed four goals in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss in Glendale, Arizona against the Phoenix Coyotes.

"If you give up three power-play goals on the road, you're going to have a tough time winning," coach Darryl Sutter told the Associated Press.

The Kings have lost all three games to the Avalanche this season, scoring four goals in the process. Forward Steve Downie, acquired from Tampa Bay this season, is expected to make his debut for Colorado (29-27-4) on Wednesday.

Wednesday's 6 p.m. PST game will be televised by NBC Sports Network. For more news and information on Kings hockey, be sure to read Jewels From The Crown.
