Kings Vs. Blue Jackets: L.A.Suffers Shutout Loss At Home 1-0

Even with seven power play opportunities, the Los Angeles Kings were unable to find the net on Saturday afternoon, as they lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets 1-0 at Staples Center. It was the first loss in regulation for the Kings under new coach Darryl Sutter, and snapped a nine-game point streak for the club.

Curtis Sanford saved all 31 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season for Columbus. The Kings outshot the Blue Jackets 31-18 for the game and 14-4 in the third period. Grant Clitsome scored at 11:25 of the second period to give Columbus the lead, his fourth goal of the season, assisted by Derick Brassard and David Savard.

Columbus has an NHL-worst 27 points, and was just 1-7-1 in their last nine games coming into play on Saturday.
