2012 Los Angeles Kings Schedule: Kings Try To Gain Ground With Games Against Canucks, Flames, Avalanche

The Los Angeles Kings may have fallen out of first place in the Pacific Division recently, but they have done a fine job at keeping pace with the first-place San Jose Sharks. They are currently only one point behind the Sharks and finally have some breathing room between themselves and the rest of the pack in the division. This week, the Kings wrap up a road trip and return to LA to kick off a four-game home stand. All three of the Kings' games this week are against opponents from the Northwest Division.

Star-divide

First up, the Kings will wrap up their three-game road trip on Tuesday, January 17 as they visit the Vancouver Canucks. This will be no easy task for the Kings, as the Canucks are currently in first place in the Northwest and are in danger of running away with the division. Tuesday's game will begin at 7:00 PM PST.

On Thursday, January 19, the Kings return to Los Angeles to host the Calgary Flames. The Flames are in fourth place in the Northwest and flirting with a losing record. This should be a significantly easier contest for the Kings. The puck will drop at 7:30 PM PST.

Finally, this week will wrap up for the Kings on Saturday, January 21 as the Colorado Avalanche come to town. The Avalanche are right in the middle of the pack in the Northwest and should prove to be no slouch as an opponent for Los Angeles. That game will also begin at 7:30 PM PST.

All of this week's games are set to air on FS-W at their scheduled start times.
