Kings Vs. Stars: No Offense For Los Angeles In 2-1 Loss

Jonathan Bernier saved 26 of 28 shots for the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night. Unfortunately for the Kings, their backup goaltender but hung with the loss as the offensively challenged Kings dropped their fourth straight game, a 2-1 home loss to the Dallas Stars at Staples Center.

The Kings have lost six of their last eight games, and have only scored 13 goals during that span. The Kings have scored two goals or fewer in each of those eight games and in 16 of their last 20 contests.

Brad Richardson scored for the Kings, a shorthanded goal assisted by Anze Kopitar at 13:58 of the second period to tie the game at 1-1. It was one of six power plays killed by the Kings on the night.

Trevor Daley scored a goal and had an assist for Dallas, and his goal at 16:44 of the second period proved to be the game winner for Dallas. Richard Bachman saved 26 of 27 shots in the win for the Stars, who moved into a tie for first place in the Pacific Division with the Phoenix Coyotes.

The frustrated Kings (13-12-4) travel to Boston to begin a four-game road trip Tuesday night at the Boston Bruins.
