Kings Vs. Sharks Final Score: Jonathan Quick Picks Up Fourth Shutout With 2-0 Win Over San Jose

Stay connected for news and updates

Jonathan Quick had his league-leading fourth shutout of the season as the Los Angeles Kings blanked the San Jose Sharks 2-0 Tuesday night at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The victory for the Kings snapped a two-game losing streak, and moved them into second place in the Pacific Division with 28 points.

Quick saved all 33 shots he faced on the night to pick up his 10th win of the season.

Ethan Moreau scored an unassisted goal at 8:37 of the first period, his first goal of the year, to give the Kings a 1-0 lead. In the second period, Mike Richards extended the lead with his team-leading 11th goal of the season. The Kings outshot the Sharks 16-11 in the first period.

The Kings appeared to widen their lead at 6:01 of the third period, but it was overturned over video replay because Slava Voynov kicked the puck with his skate. The official ruling from the NHL in Toronto was, "At 6:01 of the third, video review determined that Voynov propelled the puck into the net with his skate. A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who uses a distinct kicking motion to propel the puck into the net."

The Kings next host the Florida Panthers on Thursday night at Staples Center.
