Kings Dominate Ducks 8-3

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Jack Johnson scored two goals and dished out an assist, as the Los Angeles Kings dominated the Anaheim Ducks, 8-3, in preseason action.

Dustin Brown, Michal Handzus, Wayne Simmonds, Ryan Smyth, and Andrei Loktionov each registered a goal and an assist for the Kings. Anze Kopitar recorded four assists for Los Angeles, which got 24 saves from Jonathan Quick.

Todd Marchant scored two goals for the Ducks. Dan Sexton also lit the lamp, while Curtis McElhinney turned aside 34-of-42 shots.

NHL Preseason Hockey: Kings Host Ducks At Staples Center

Tonight the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks renew their rivalry with a preseason tilt at Staples Center. For the first time for both clubs this preseason, the game will be broadcast visually, although not on television. First puck is 7:30 p.m. PDT, and the game will be streamed online at LAKings.com, in addition to the radio broadcast available on AnaheimDucks.com.

Los Angeles leads the all-time series between the two teams 43-35-18, and the Kings were 3-2-1 against the Ducks last season. The two teams play six games against one another this regular season: November 29, February 23, and April 8 at The Honda Center in Anaheim, and December 26, March 19, and April 9 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Yesterday, the Kings assigned center Oscar Moller and defensemen Andrew Campbell, Johan Fransson, and Alec Martinez to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League. There are 33 players remaining on the Kings' preseason roster.

The Ducks have 30 players on their preseason roster. Center Ryan Getzlaf is tied for the preseason NHL lead in points scored with six, while right wing Corey Perry is tied for first with four goals scored.
