The Los Angeles Dodgers will get a boost to their bullpen soon with Kenley Jansen and Scott Elbert both close to returning from injury.
Jansen has been out since the end of August with an irregular heartbeat. He is scheduled to meet with team doctors on Friday, hoping to be taken off the blood thinners he's been taking. If all goes well, Jansen could travel with the Dodgers on their 10-game road trip and would be eligible to pitch on Tuesday.
Elbert has been has been on the disabled list since August 29 with elbow inflammation. He is scheduled to throw his second simulated game on Friday and if all goes well he could be activated this weekend according to Dodgers manager Don Mattingly.
"If he's good, we'll probably roll with him," Mattingly said.
