Andre Ethier went 4-4 and added 4 RBIs as the Los Angeles Dodgers focused on the task at hand amidst rumors of a trade with the Boston Red Sox and defeated the Miami Marlins, 11-4 on Friday night at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers' bats were lively as Ethier, Juan Rivera, and Hanley Ramirez each homered in the contest. The Dodgers were an impressive 4-9 with runners in scoring position and pulled away from the Marlins behind its strong offensive output.
Starting pitcher Chad Billingsley left the game in the bottom of the fourth inning with a tender right elbow, but the Dodgers' bullpen managed to put together a strong performance, collectively striking out five and only allowing just one run.
Billingsley struggled prior to leaving the game and gave up five hits, three earned runs and walked three in just over three and one-third innings of work. Marlins' starter Nate Eovaldi earned his ninth loss of the season.
