Nick Green and John Buck each had run-scoring doubles in the fifth inning, and Carlos Lee added a two-run double in the eighth. The Marlins had a well-balanced scoring attack as all eight starting position players had at least one hit, and seven different players scored a run.
Joe Blanton was cruising through four innings for the Dodgers, but three doubles and four runs proved to be his undoing in the fifth. Blanton (8-10) took the loss in his second start as a Dodger.
Ricky Nolasco, who stranded the bases loaded in the first two innings and allowed nine hits in his five innings, ended up with the win (9-11).
