Matt Kemp Plays 7 Innings In Center Field In Minor League Rehab Game

Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star outfielder Matt Kemp continued his rehab assignment on Thursday night with the Class A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes as they were in San Bernardino to play the Inland Empire 66ers, an Angels affiliate.

Kemp went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a strikeout, with Angels prospect Eric Cendejas recording the punchout. "It's not going to be the last game I strike out. The guy threw me a good pitch," Kemp told Pete Alexander of the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.

Kemp played seven innings in center field on Thursday, after playing five innings in center field on Wednesday.

In three games with Rancho Cucamonga, Kemp is 5-for-11 with a double, two runs scored, and four RBI. He will continue his rehab with the Quakes on Friday with one more game against the 66ers, followed by a pair of road games in San Jose on Saturday and Sunday.

Kemp is scheduled to take part in Home Run Derby on Monday at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, but will not play in the All-Star Game on Tuesday. Kemp is scheduled to be activated by the Dodgers on July 13, their first game after the break.
