Fox Sports is reporting that the Los Angeles Dodgers are Ryan Dempster's first choice to be to be traded to. The Dodgers have been linked to the veteran Chicago Cub's pitcher for quite some time, but it would appear that a deal will be coming sooner than later.
An exec of one team talking to the #Cubs said today they're working hard to move Ryan Dempster "by the end of the week."— Jayson Stark (@jaysonst) July 17, 2012
Meanwhile, Jon Heyman is reporting that the Cubs are looking for either one very good prospect or two mid-level prospects, preferably young pitching prospects. Because Dempster is a 10 year veteran that has spent the past five years with the same team, he has veto power over the final destination, but it appears the Dodgers are clear in that count.
Dempster is 5-3 with a 1.86 ERA and will be a free agent after this year.
