The Dodgers last played in Seattle from July 7-9, 2000.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in search of their fifth straight win on Friday night as they make their first trip to Seattle in 12 years, batting the Mariners to open a weekend interleague series. This is the second time the Dodgers have traveled to Safeco Field, a mere dozen years after dropping two of three games from July 7-9, 2000.

The Dodgers are fresh off a sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies, their first four-game sweep in Philadelphia in 66 seasons. The Dodgers are 5-2 to start their 10-game road trip, with only three games in Seattle standing between them and a return home to Chavez Ravine.

Nathan Eovaldi gets the start for the Dodgers on Friday night, making his third start since getting recalled from Double A Chattanooga. Eovaldi has allowed five total runs in his first two starts but thus far has no wins to show for it. The 22-year old lost his last start Sunday in Colorado when he allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Rockies.

The Mariners will go with Kevin Millwood to start the series opener, looking for his fourth win of the season. Millwood gave up four runs in four innings in a loss to the White Sox on Sunday in his first start of June, after allowing two runs in 27 innings in his last four starts of May.

This is the first interleague game of the season for the Dodgers, who played the St. Louis Cardinals during the first interleague weekend from May18-20.

Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon has a six-game hitting streak, hitting .280/.333/.360 during that span, including at least one hit in each of the last five games since returning to the leadoff spot.

Friday's 7:10 p.m. PDT game will be televised by Prime Ticket. For more news and notes on Dodgers baseball, be sure to read True Blue LA. For your Mariners information, head over to Lookout Landing, or read SB Nation Seattle.
