Dodgers Vs. Giants Final Score: 3rd Straight Shutout Leaves Dodgers, Giants Tied Atop NL West

Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants handed the Los Angeles Dodgers a 3-0 loss on Wednesday, completing a series sweep and a disastrous road trip for the Dodgers. The Dodgers didn't score a single run in three games against the Giants, and they lost eight of their nine games on the trip.

The Dodgers and Giants are now tied atop the National League West.

The Dodgers hadn't been shutout by the same team for three straight games since June 29-30, 1937, when the Boston Braves turned the trick against the Brooklyn Dodgers. Now 75 years later, the Dodgers haven't scored in their last 30 innings, dating back to Sunday.

Lincecum pitched seven scoreless innings for his third win of the season.

Chad Billingsley lost his third straight game on Wednesday, allowing three runs in six innings, though he did strike out seven in defeat. Billingsley came closest to scoring a run for the Dodgers on Wednesday, doubling off Billingsley in the third inning. Billingsley advanced to third base on one wild pitch, then tried to score on another but was thrown out at the plate as catcher Hector Sanchez retrieved the ball and threw to Lincecum to keep the game scoreless at that point.

The Dodgers return home to play the Mets in a four-game series at Dodger Stadium beginning Thursday night.
