The Los Angeles Dodgers opened their three-game series with the San Francisco Giants with a 9-1 win Monday night, an always welcome accomplishment against their longtime rivals. The win opened an eight-game homestand for the Dodgers, with all eight games against National League West opponents.
In face, the next 10 games for the Dodgers are against divisional foes, with a two-game trip to San Diego to face the Padres on the docket next week. The Dodgers have built a five-game lead in the NL West, and have an opportunity to widen that gap with some strong home play. Here are the NL West standings:
