Matt Kemp Injury: MRI Exam Scheduled For Thursday

The news on Los Angeles Dodgers superstar center fielder Matt Kemp was as expected, as Kemp did indeed aggravate his left hamstring injury while scoring from first base on a double in the first inning against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Dodgers announced on Wednesday night. Kemp will undergo an MRI exam on Thursday to determine the damage.

Kemp missed 14 games with a left hamstring strain, an injury he first felt on May 6 at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Kemp played for another week, going 4-for-20, before injuring the hamstring on May 13 against the Colorado Rockies.

Left hamstring injuries have been quite common this year for the Dodgers. Jerry Hairston Jr. missed 16 games with a strained left hamstring before returning last Friday. Juan Rivera has missed 20 games so far with a more severe left hamstring injury as he ruptured a tendon, but he could be back as soon as this weekend.
