Who might the Dodgers go with at the 2012 Draft?

The 2012 MLB Draft is just a few weeks away and the Los Angeles Dodgers will have the 18th overall pick in the first round. While the team is experiencing plenty of success in 2012, it is imperative for them to continue building the franchise through strong showings at the draft. This appears to be a deep, talented field of players and L.A. should be able to find themselves a promising young prospect with their first pick.

Baseball America recently released their first round mock draft, and they have the Dodgers going with high school pitcher Ty Hensley out of Santa Fe High School in Oklahoma. Here is a brief scouting report on him from ESPN.

Hensley, a physical arm that was up to 94 mph at the Area Code Games in August, the Ole Miss commit could pitch his way into the first round. Like McCullers, Hensley could end up pitching in relief, but he has a shot to start long term.

Hensley comes in at 6'5 and 225lbs so he has the frame to be a front-end workhorse for any pitching staff, but there have been a few concerns about his ability to continually throw the amount of pitches needed to be a starter. He has a very high upside though, and most figure his stuff on the mound alone will warrant a first round pick.
