Dee Gordon Leaves Game With Injured Right Shoulder

The Dodgers have been plagued by several injuries this season, and shortstop Dee Gordon is the latest. Gordon left Saturday night's game against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Phoenix with an injured right shoulder. Luckily according to the Dodgers, the injury doesn't appear to be too severe:

Docs have ruled out separation or dislocation of Gordon's right shoulder. He is day to day and will be reevaluated tomorrow.

Gordon injured the shoulder in a rundown in the bottom of the third inning. Kelly Johnson singled to lead off the inning for Arizona, but Nathan Eovaldi picked him off first base. Johnson broke for second on the pickoff, and first baseman Juan Rivera threw to Gordon. After catching the throw, Gordon seemed determined to race Johnson back to first base rather than throw to Eovaldi, who was covering first base. Gordon dove to tag out Johnson, but appeared injure his right shoulder while rolling over during the dive.

Gordon was taken out of the game after trainers looked at him, and he walked off the field on his own power. Jamey Carroll took over at shortstop. The Dodgers have had 15 different players make 23 trips to the disabled list this season.
