Trayvon Robinson Reportedly To Make MLB Debut In Front Of Family & Friends...Just Not How He Imagined

All his life, Trayvon Robinson wanted to be a Dodger. The former Crenshaw High School standout was drafted by the Dodgers in the 10th round in 2005, and worked his way up the ladder to Triple A this season, where he hit .289/.374/.552 with 26 home runs. Now, it appears Robinson will make his major league debut this weekend in Southern California, only not as he imagined.

You see, Robinson was traded by the Dodgers with minutes left before Sunday's trade deadline in a three-way deal that sent Robinson to the Mariners. After three games with Tacoma, Robinson will reportedly be promoted to the majors for Friday's game, replacing Greg Halman, who was optioned to Triple A, per Ryan Divish of the Tacoma News Tribune.

The Mariners play the Angels in Anaheim this weekend. "I really did want to be a part of the Dodgers’ big-league (team), me being from that hometown. That would have been the best thing ever. I dreamed about that every day," Robinson told Christopher Jackson of the Albuquerque Examiner on Wednesday.

At the very least, Robinson can have his family and friends in attendance for his major league debut, even if it isn't exactly how he imagined it.
