Ted Lilly was 2-3 in August with a 2.35 ERA in six starts.
The Los Angeles Dodgers go for a sweep of the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon at Dodger Stadium. Before the game, the Dodgers placed relief pitcher Matt Guerrier on the paternity leave and recalled Josh Lindblom from Double A Chattanooga, per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com. In addition, Jamey Carroll is out of the lineup on waiver trading deadline day amid reports that he has been claimed.
Lindblom was optioned to Double A after the game on August 24 to make room for Kenley Jansen, who was activated from the disabled list. Normally a player can't return to the big leagues inside of 10 days of the option, but it's okay to replace a player on the disabled list, bereavement list, or on paternity leave. Guerrier can miss up to three days on paternity leave.
Here are Wednesday's starting lineups:

Forsythe 3B
Guzman 1B
Blanks LF
Hudson 2B

The Padres had to get 6 1/3 innings from their bullpen on Tuesday night, so before Wednesday's game they recalled pitcher Brad Brach from Triple A Tucson and optioned Blake Tekotte, per Corey Brock of MLB.com. The Padres are now carrying 13 pitchers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers go for a sweep of the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon, and seek their eighth win in their last nine games. Ted Lilly gets the start for the Dodgers, looking to finish off his stellar August. Wade LeBlanc starts for the Padres.
Lilly has a 2.20 ERA in August, with eight walks and 28 strikeouts in 32 2/3 innings. However, he is just 1-3 this month due to poor run support, but he did win his last start, on Friday against the Colorado Rockies with seven strong innings allowing one run at Dodger Stadium.
Lilly has allowed 28 home runs and 29 stolen bases this season, and seems a cinch to become the first Dodgers pitcher ever to allow a 30/30 season. It could come as soon as today, as Lilly has allowed 13 home runs in nine daytime starts this season. The last 30/30 season by a pitcher was by Gavin Floyd in 2008 with the Chicago White Sox.
The Dodgers are 10-4 against the Padres this season, including 6-2 at Dodger Stadium.

Dodgers Vs. Padres: Rod Barajas Home Run Leads To Sweep Of San Diego
Rod Barajas hit a two-run home run in the second inning, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 4-2 win over the San Diego Padres Wednesday afternoon at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers swept the Padres for the second straight time in Los Angeles, and have now won eight of their last nine games.
The Dodgers finished August at 17-11, their first winning month since June 2010.
Barajas also doubled on Wednesday, capping off a wonderful month that saw the catcher hit .357 with six home runs and 19 RBI in 18 games. James Loney also had a stellar month for the Dodgers, and had two hits today, including an RBI and a run scored. Matt Kemp also drove in a run, setting a new career high with 102 RBI.
Ted Lilly pitched into the sixth inning for his second straight win. He allowed two runs, but also was at his most wild. He walked four batters in a game for the first time since June 1, 2010.
After the game, the Dodgers announced Dana Eveland will be promoted from Triple A to start in Pittsburgh on Thursday. The Dodgers play once against the Pirates to makeup a rained out game from May 12.
