The Los Angeles Clippers no longer hold their playoff fate in their own hands. The Clippers lost 99-93 to the New York Knicks Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, dropping their second straight game to end their regular season. With the loss, the Clippers fell a half-game behind the Memphis Grizzlies in the race for the No. 4 seed and home court advantage in the first round.
If Memphis beats Orlando at home Thursday night, they get the No. 4 seed and will host the Clippers beginning this weekend. But if Memphis loses, the Clippers get the No. 4 seed and home court advantage for the first time in franchise history.
J.R. Smith led New York with 21 points off the bench.
