The Clippers need one win to clinch the best winning percentage in franchise history.
The Los Angeles Clippers play their final home game of the regular season on Sunday night, hosting the lowly New Orleans Hornets at Staples Center.
With the Lakers' 114-106 double-overtime win earlier Sunday over the Oklahoma City Thunder, also on the Staples Center floor, the Clippers (39-24) can only win the Pacific Division if they win their remaining three games and the Lakers lose their finale. The Lakers own the tiebreaker with the Clippers.
The Lakers have just one game remaining, Thursday at Sacramento. The Clippers have three games remaining, with road games Tuesday in Atlanta and Wednesday in New York.
The Clippers lost to the Hornets (20-43) 97-90 in New Orleans on March 22, but beat the Hornets 100-85 at Staples Center four days later. The Clippers need just one win to clinch the best winning percentage in franchise history, beating out the 1974-1975 Buffalo Braves team that went 49-33 (.598).
