Clippers Vs. Timberwolves Final Score: Derrick Williams, Michael Beasley Lead Minnesota To 109-97 Win

Former La Mirada High School star Derrick Williams shined bright in front of family and friends on Tuesday night, scoring 27 points off the bench in leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 109-97 win over the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.

Michael Beasley added 27 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, as the Minnesota bench outscored the Clippers bench 72-11

Williams shot like he was back at the University of Arizona on Tuesday, making nine of 10 field goals, including 4-of-4 from three-point range and made all five free throws. Williams scored all 10 points in a 10-2 run early in the fourth quarter that broke open an 80-80 tie.

The Clippers have five home losses this season and two of them are to Minnesota.

Blake Griffin scored 30 points to lead the Clippers, who led 54-51 at halftime and 76-73 after three quarters. Griffin had 18 points, on 7-of-11 shooting, and five rebounds in the first quarter, and had 24 points in the first half. DeAndre Jordan added 14 points and 14 rebounds for Los Angeles.

The Clippers open a six-game road trip Thursday night in Sacramento.
