The Los Angeles Clippers return home Wednesday night to host the suddenly hot Washington Wizards at Staples Center. Chris Paul and the gang won four of six games on their Grammy road trip, and now return home where they are 10-3 this season. The Wizards, who opened the season 1-10 on the road, are 2-0 to start their five-game road trip.
The Clippers have beaten the Wizards six straight times, including a 107-81 destruction in Washington D.C. on February 4. That game was also the first game of a stretch of six straight games for the Clippers in which they have outrebounded their opponent. The Clippers outrebounded Dallas 50-36 on Monday and have outrebounded their last six opponents on average 47-36.
Washington began their road trip with a 98-77 win in Detroit, then surprised the Trail Blazers with a 124-109 victory in Portland on Tuesday night. Since losing to the Clippers by 26 points, the Wizards are 3-2.
Chris Paul had five turnovers Monday in Dallas, one more turnover than he had in the previous three games combined. Paul has had two turnovers or less in 15 of 21 games this season. Chauncey Billups had successful surgery on his left Achilles on Wednesday morning, per his agency.
