2012 NBA power rankings: Clippers third, Lakers ninth

The Los Angeles Clippers are ranked third in the latest power rankings.

The Los Angeles Clippers are ranked third while the Los Angeles Lakers are ranked ninth in Seth Rosenthal's Week 2 NBA power rankings on SB Nation.

The Lakers opened the season with three consecutive losses before defeating the Detroit Pistons, 108-79, on Sunday for their first win of the season.

The Lakers will be without Steve Nash this week after he suffered a small fracture in his left leg versus Portland last Thursday. Steve Blake has been starting in place of Nash.

The Clippers defeated the Lakers last Friday for their second win of the season, before falling to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, 114-110.

The Miami Heat dropped to the second spot after a 2-1 start to the season -- including a 104-84 loss to the New York Knicks last Friday. The San Antonio Spurs moved into first-place after three consecutive wins to open the season over New Orleans, Oklahoma City and Utah.
