Chris Paul Injury: Hamstring MRI Negative, Might Not Play Monday

Stay connected for news and updates

More Chris Paul injury news. It looks as if the superstar point guard's injury isn't going to keep him out of action for too long. According to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Paul had an MRI on his strained left hamstring which turned out negative, which probably means that the point guard should recover sooner rather than later.

More importantly, there doesn't appear to be anything that could lead to long-term damage for CP3.

Paul could still play against the New Jersey Nets on Monday, but he might also sit out with Mo Williams and let Chauncey Billups start at the point. The Clippers might dip into the well and find some emergency point guard to back up Billups while Paul is injured to let him recover. Los Angeles has two winnable games without Paul when they play the Nets and the Jazz, although they could use him for that third game against the Mavericks.
