Blake Griffin Leads Clippers To 98-90 Win Over Minnesota

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Blake Griffin recorded 29 points, eight rebounds and five assists, as the Los Angeles Clippers took down the Minnesota Timberwolves, 98-90. The game centered around Griffin and Minnesota's Kevin Love -- the top two double-double leaders in the league. Love tallied 18 points and 18 boards to secure his franchise-record 42nd consecutive double-double. Love and Griffin have 51 and 46 double-doubles, respectively, this year.

Randy Foye finished with 21 points and six assists for the Clippers, who improved to 2-6 on an 11-game road trip. Ryan Gomes chipped in with 18 points. Los Angeles holds a 21-35 record heading into the All-Star break. Wayne Ellington made five three-pointers en route to 18 points off the bench for the Timberwolves, who have dropped four straight and 13 of their last 16 overall. Minnesota heads into the break with a dismal 13-43 mark.

Griffin, Love Battle Down Low Might Be Joined By Kaman As Clippers Take On Timberwolves

Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers end their hellish eight-game road trip tonight against Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center. However, the Clippers did get some good news today, as center Chris Kaman has been upgraded to a game-time decision, per play-by-play man Ralph Lawler. Kaman has missed the last 26 games, and 45 of the last 47 games, with an aggravated bone bruise in his left ankle.

Tonight is the fourth and final meeting this season between the All-Star power forwards Griffin and Love. The home team has won all three games. In their three matchups, Griffin is averaging 25.7 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, while Love is averaging 20.7 points and 11.7 rebounds. Both will be reserves for the Western Conference at Staples Center this Sunday.

The Clippers are just 1-6 on their road trip so far, which ends with the All-Star break. Technically, it is an 11-game trip, but the Clippers will head back home to Los Angeles after tonight's game. The Clippers are 4-21 on the road this season, while Minnesota is just 9-18 at home.
