Blake Griffin Leads Clippers Over Bucks, 105-98, For Ninth Straight Home Win

Blake Griffin had another stellar night, leading the Los Angeles Clippers to a 105-98 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at Staples Center. It was the ninth straight home win for the Clippers, which set a new franchise record since they moved to Los Angeles. The Clippers need to win their next two games to match the franchise record of 11 consecutive home wins set in San Diego in 1979.

Griffin had 32 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists for the Clippers, his 39th double-double in 47 games this season. When asked on Prime Ticket for the reason to the Clippers' recent success at home, Griffin praised the defense. "DeAndre Jordan is doing an unbelievable job protecting the paint. As a team, we're on our rotations and helping everyone out," Griffin said. "That's the key for us."

Jordan had 16 points, seven rebounds, and five blocks for the Clippers, and he only missed one of his eight field goal attempts. The Clippers fell behind by seven points late in the third quarter, but finished the quarter on a 13-2 run over the final four minutes to take a lead into the final period. The Bucks cut the Clippers lead to four points near the end of the game, and after a missed Randy Foye three-pointer with 1:05 remaining, Milwaukee looked poised to cut further into the lead. However, they never got the ball, as Baron Davis outjumped everybody for a clutch rebound, then passed out to Foye, he didn't miss his second three-point attempt of the possession.

Davis had 18 points, five rebounds, and seven assists for the Clippers, who have won 14 of their last 21 games. Former Clipper Corey Maggette led Milwaukee with 25 points, including hitting 13 of 15 free throws. Center Andrew Bogut added 14 points and 11 boards for the Bucks. The Clippers next host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night, their final home game before departing on an 11-game road trip.

Clippers Look For Ninth Straight Home Win, Hosting Bucks At Staples Center

The Los Angeles Clippers look to extend their home winning streak to nine games, as they host the Milwaukee Bucks at Staples Center. The current eight-game streak tied a franchise record for when the Clippers have been in Los Angeles, matching the 1992-1993 club that went to the playoffs. The franchise record for consecutive home wins is 11, set in 1979 when they were in San Diego:

Longest Home Winning Streaks, Franchise History
Team Streak Season
San Diego Clippers 11 1978-1979
Buffalo Braves 10 1975-1976
Buffalo Braves 9 1974-1975
LA Clippers 8 2010-2011
LA Clippers 8 1992-1993

Milwaukee comes to town having won three straight games, and five of their last seven. They are 19-26, which has them a half game out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, behind the Charlotte Bobcats, whom the Clippers handled easily on Saturday night. The Clippers have won 13 of their last 19 games against the Bucks.

With Eric Gordon out, Randy Foye has filled in nicely in the starting lineup the last three games. Over those three contests, Foye has averaged 18.7 points while shooting 40% from three-point range. The Bucks are looking for their second win at Staples Center this season, as they drubbed the Lakers 98-79 on December 21.
