Stay connected for news and updates

The Los Angeles Clippers got off to a hot start tonight, looking for their seventh straight win at home, as they lead the Golden State Warriors, 65-56 at halftime at Staples Center. The Clippers were led by their two stars in the first 24 minutes. Eric Gordon led all scorers with 18 points, on 6-of-11 shooting, while Blake Griffin is well on his way to a triple double, which would be the first of his career.

Grififn, who struggled shooting Thursday night in Portland, scored 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including an impressive alley-oop dunk to add to his highlight reel. Griffin also picked up eight rebounds and dished out seven assists. The seven assists for Griffin are a career high, matching a total he has reached five other times this season.

Monta Ellis, who was questionable to play tonight with a sprained ankle, led Golden State in the first half with 13 points. Ellis is third in the NBA in scoring, averaging 26.0 points per game. The Clippers are 13-8 this season when they lead at halftime, including 10-5 at home.
