Angels Minor Leaguer Yancarlos Santiago Suspended 25 Games

Los Angeles Angels left-handed minor league pitcher Yancarlos Santiago has been suspended for 25 games without pay for violating MLB's Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, according to MLB.com.

Santiago, a 21-year-old relief pitcher for rookie-level Orem, pitched in 15 games for the Owls in 2012 and posted a 1-3 record with a 5.91 ERA. His suspension is effective immediately.

Major League Baseball handed out two other drug-related suspensions on Tuesday as well.

Free agent minor league right-hander Ysmael Carmona, who last pitched for the Angels' Double-A Arkansas Travelers, was suspended for 25 games for violating MLB's Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. His suspension will begin immediately upon his signing with another Major League organization.

Baltimore Orioles minor league left-handed pitcher Kevin Grendell has been suspended for 50 games without pay after testing positive for Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). The suspension of Grendell, a member of the Gulf Coast League Orioles, is effective immediately.
