Angels vs. Rangers series preview: TV Schedule, probable pitchers & more

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Angels have a chance to move into a Wild Card berth in their second-to-last season series. Can they make a statement against the Rangers as they hit the road one last time?

The Los Angeles Angels will be hitting the road for their final six games of the 2012 regular season. They will kick off a three-game series against the Texas Rangers in Arlington on Friday before wrapping things up with a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners.

While the Angels missed out on a crucial chance to close the gap to one game behind the Oakland Athletics for the second American League Wild Card spot, they are still very much in the hunt -- although they may need to win out the season to make that happen. It will be possible, but difficult. The last push for the postseason begins in Texas.

TV Schedule & Probable Pitchers

Friday's game will begin at 5:05 p.m. PT and will be televised on FOX Sports West. You can catch the radio broadcast on KLAA 830. The Halos will have their best pitcher kicking off the road trip as Jered Weaver tries to pick up his 20th win in his Cy Young Award bid. He'll face Ryan Dempster, who is 7-2 with a 4.48 ERA since joining the Rangers.

First pitch on Saturday will be at 1:05 p.m. PT and the game will be the FOX game of the week. You can catch the radio broadcast on KLAA 830. Ervin Santana will try to get his 10th win of the year. He'll take on Derek Holland, who was knocked around in his last start. Holland enters the game with an 11-6 record and a 4.50 ERA.

Sunday's finale will get started at 12:05 p.m. PT and will not be televised locally. You can catch the radio broadcast on KLAA 830. Zack Greinke will have possibly his final start as a member of the Angels and will try to improve on his 6-2 record and 3.40 ERA since joining the Halos. His opponent will be Yu Darvish, who is currently 16-9 with a 3.90 ERA.
