The Los Angeles Angels play host to the Chicago White Sox on Friday, with both clubs in need of a victory to aid their playoff chances.

The Angels, currently 4.5 games back in the AL Wild Card race, will send Ervin Santana (8-12, 5.08) to the mound. He is making his first start since taking a ball off his forearm against Oakland back on Sept. 12. The right-hander is 3-2 with a 2.70 ERA in his last six outings.

The White Sox, who hold a two game lead in the AL Central, will opt for Jake Peavy (11-11, 3.26 ERA) this evening. The veteran righty is 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA in his last four starts against the Angels Peavy, and is 2-1 with a 3.06 ERA in three starts this month.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. PT with coverage on Fox Sports West and KLAA 830 AM.
