Angels Vs. Royals Game Preview: Los Angeles Sends Dan Haren To The Mound Looking For Series Win

Stay connected for news and updates

After squandering a strong start from starter Zack Greinke, who left Saturday's game with a 2-0 lead only to see the Angels blow the save opportunity and lose 3-2, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim send Dan Haren to the mound looking to win the rubber game of a three-game set with the Kansas City Royals.

After taking the first game in the series 9-7 on Friday, the Angels looked prime to set up a Sunday-afternoon meeting for a sweep, but the tough loss certainly threw the Angels for a loop, especially in the midst of a ever-tightening American League Wild Card race. The Angels now sit 2½ games back of one of the Wild Card spots.

The Royals counter with starter Will Smith, who will look to give Kansas City both the series victory and the overall season series victory, as the teams have previously split their eight meetings.
