After losing the first two games of the series with the Tampa Bay Rays by a combined score of 19-3, the Los Angeles Angels will look to rebound Saturday night.
Los Angeles will send C.J. Wilson to the mound looking for his first win since June 26. Wilson is 0-5 in his last nine starts with his era rising from 2.36 to 3.32 during that period. The Rays will counter with Alex Cobb who is 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA against the Angels this season. Tampa Bay will be without Carlos Pena and Matt Joyce Saturday, both of whom are getting the day off.
This is an important game for both clubs as they battle for wild card positioning. The Rays enter the game atop the American League wild card standings while the Angels are 2.5 games back of the second wild card spot.
