Angels Vs. Indians Final Score: Cleveland Evens Up Series With 9-5 Win

The Los Angeles Angels played the second game of their three-game series against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field on Tuesday. The game featured a five-run Angels inning and two length rain delays, but when it was all said and done, the Indians picked up a 9-5 victory to even up the series.

The Indians took a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Jason Kipnis singled home Shin-Soo Choo. The Tribe added two more runs in the second on a Shelley Duncan sacrifice fly and an RBI double by Jack Hannahan. In the bottom of the fourth, Duncan homered off of starter Dan Haren to make it 4-0 Cleveland.

The Halos pushed back with a big fifth inning, plating five runs to take the lead. Alberto Callaspo scored on an error to get Los Angeles on the board. Mike Trout followed up with a three-run shot to left field, his 10th home run of the year. Two batters later, Albert Pujols launched his 13th homer of the season to make it 5-4 Angels. Unfortunately, that offensive outburst would be it for the Halos.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Indians reclaimed the lead for good. Jose Lopez hit an RBI double to tie things up, then two runs scored on an RBI groundout by Michael Brantley and a throwing error by Pujols. Brantley hit another RBI groundout in the bottom of the seventh to make it 8-5 and Aaron Cunningham hit an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to tack on another insurance run.

Haren lasted just 4.1 innings and gave up seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and no walks.
