The Los Angeles Angels are coming off a series win against the Kansas City Royals and really need to keep winning heading into August. The Halos are five games behind the first-place Texas Rangers and are currently tied for the Wild Card lead with the Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox.
The Angels will host the Tampa Bay Rays for a three-game series beginning on Friday. The Rays have been struggling of late and playing very inconsistently. They dropped a series to the Seattle Mariners before taking two of three from the Baltimore Orioles. They are 8.5 games out of the lead in the American League East and may be sellers at the trade deadline.
