Angels Vs. Rockies Final Score: Torii Hunter, Halos Romp In 7-2 Win

The Los Angeles Angels were hoping to take advantage of the notorious band box that is Coors Field and they did exactly that as they visited the Colorado Rockies on Friday to kick off a three-game interleague series. The Angels did indeed enjoy the friendly confines in Colorado as they coasted to a 7-2 win behind starter C.J. Wilson.

The Angels put two runs on the board in the third inning, before the Rockies had even recorded their first hit. With Mike Trout aboard, Torii Hunter hit his seventh home run of the year to make it 2-0 Angels. In the top of the fifth, Hunter hit another home run to make it 4-0 Halos.

Colorado got their first run in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI double by Marco Scutaro.

Hunter struck once again in the top of the ninth with a two-run single. Albert Pujols followed up with an RBI double that made it 7-1. Jordan Pacheco hit a two-out RBI triple in the bottom of the ninth, but that proved to be the last gasp for the Rockies.

Hunter finished 3-for-5 with six RBI. Trout was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Pujols had a pair of hits.

Wilson allowed just one run and struck out nine in eight solid innings, allowing just five hits and one walk. With the win, Wilson improved to 7-4 on the season.
