The Los Angeles Angels got some good news about ace Jered Weaver on Wednesday as he had his most promising day of rehab yet, extending his long toss to about 300 feet and could be less than a week away from throwing a bullpen session, according to multiple reports.
Per Angels beat writer Mike DiGiovanna on Twitter:
Looking more like #Angels RH Jered Weaver (lower-back strain) will only be out 15 days. Extended long-toss to 300 feet today. Off mound soon

Weaver suffered the injury back on May 28, so earliest he could return to the Halos is June 14, just in time for a home series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He had a 6-1 record and 2.61 ERA in 11 starts before hitting the disabled list.
