Angels Vs. Blue Jays Final Score: 7-Run Second Inning Sinks L.A. In 11-2 Loss

Three games into a four-game series between the Los Angeles Angels and the Toronto Blue Jays, it has been far from a low-scoring affair. During Saturday's game, however, the Angels were held down by Toronto pitching as the Blue Jays walked to an 11-2 win to take a 2-1 edge in the series.

The Jays scored their first run in the bottom of the first inning during a Jose Bautista double play, but the wheels would truly come off in the bottom of the second, when Toronto plated a whopping seven runs against starter Garrett Richards. Yunel Escobar hit a two-run homer, a run scored on a fielding error by Peter Bourjos, Colby Rasmus had an RBI double, Bautista had an RBI single and came in to score on a throwing error by Mike Trout and then Trout uncharacteristically misplayed a Kelly Johnson hit into an RBI triple.

Trout was also ineffective at the plate for a change, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout.

Maicer Izturis finally doubled home Bobby Wilson in the top of the third to get the Halos on the board. Brett Lawrie hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to make it 11-1. Andrew Romine managed a two-out RBI single in the top of the ninth to give the Angels a second run, but that would prove to be the last gasp. Romine was 3-for-4 with a trio of singles during the game.

Richards ended up going just 4.1 innings and giving up 10 runs (five earned) on nine hits and four walks.

The Halos will try to salvage a series split in the finale on Sunday.
