Angels Vs. Blue Jays Final Score: Winning Streak Comes To An End With 7-5 Loss

On Friday, the Los Angeles Angels played the second game of their four-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre. The two teams showed once again that they really enjoy scoring runs off of each other, but this time it was the Angels who wound up on the losing end, snapping their four-game winning streak with a 7-5 loss.

Starters Ervin Santana and Carlos Villanueva kept the game scoreless until the third inning, when Torii Hunter got the Halos on the board with an RBI single. Erick Aybar made it 2-0 Angels with a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth, but the lead evaporated in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Blue Jays pulled ahead with a five-run fourth inning that included RBI singles by Edwin Encarnacion and Yunel Escobar and a three-run home run from Adam Lind.

Albert Pujols hit an RBI double in the top of the fifth, then John Hester hit a two run homer to tie things up 5-5 in the seventh inning. In the bottom of the seventh, however, Escobar hit a go-ahead RBI double. Lind hit his second home run of the game in the bottom of the eighth, tacking on an insurance run with a shot to left field.

Jordan Walden, who gave up the Escobar double, was handed the loss. The Angels will be back at it on Saturday, trying to pick up another win to at least ensure a series split.
