Angels Vs. Athletics Final Score: Ervin Santana, Mike Trout, Albert Pujols Lead Halos To 4-0 Win

Ervin Santana pitched scoreless baseball into the eighth inning on Tuesday as the Los Angeles Angels beat the Oakland Athletics 4-0 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Albert Pujols went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI singles in the win, to raise his batting average to .212 on the season.

The Halos with the win snapped a two-game losing streak and salvaged a split of their brief two-game home series with Oakland.

Santana (2-6) won his second straight start after beginning the season by losing his first six starts. He allowed just four hits and three walks in the win, and struck out nine batters, one shy of his season high.

Mike Trout went 3-for-4 with his third home run of the season, a seventh inning solo shot off Bartolo Colon. Trout scored three runs and also stole a base, his third of the year. It was the second time in his career, and the second time in five days that Trout had a home run and a steal in the same game. He did the same against Texas on Friday.

The Angels welcome the Chicago White Sox to town on Wednesday for another brief two-game series. Jerome Williams starts the opener for the Halos, facing Gavin Floyd for the White Sox.

Angels Vs. Athletics, Game 1 Final Score: Halos Shut Out At Home, 5-0

The Los Angeles Angels were hoping that a return to the Big A would be good for their offense after dropping two of three in Arlington. Unfortunately, the second-place Oakland Athletics made themselves right at home in Angel Stadium as they defeated the Halos by a final score of 5-0.

Josh Reddick hit a solo home run with two outs in the top of the first inning to get the scoring started. The A's would slowly tack on runs throughout the game, but the Angels would not even be able to muster an extra-base hit among their eight hits and one walk. Three of those hits came from Maicer Izturis and another two came from Mark Trumbo, who continues to contribute even when no one else on the Angels does.

Oakland starter Tyson Ross came into the game with one win and an ERA over six. He ended up holding the Angels to five hits and a walk over six quiet innings. Dan Haren took the loss, surrendering four runs in six innings on six hits and four walks. Haren falls to 1-4 on the season.

Torii Hunter Placed On Restricted List Due To Personal Reasons

The Los Angeles Angels placed Torii Hunter on the restricted list on Monday afternoon. Though, the team stated Hunter was placed on the list for personal reasons. Outfielder Ryan Langerhans will be called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to take Hunter's spot in the Angels' active roster.

Though not officially stated, this move likely corresponds with Monday's arrest of Hunter's 17-year old son, Darius McClinton-Hunter involving sexual assault charges per Deadspin.

According to a local news report from NBCFDW, NBC's Dallas Fort-Worth affiliate, the alleged assault was reported one month ago. Torii Hunter and the Angels have yet to officially comment on the situation.

Four of those arrested are charged with sexual assault of a child and the fifth is charged with unlawful restraint, McHone said. Two of those arrested are adults, 17-year-old Garrick White and 17-year-old Darius McClinton-Hunter. Both White and Hunter are both charged with sexual assault of a child, a 2nd-degree felony.

It is unknown when Hunter will rejoin the Angels — the team begins a three-game series against the Oakland A's on Monday.
