Angels Vs. Rangers, Game 1 Final Score: Halos Can't Measure Up In 10-3 Loss

The Los Angeles Angels got off to a nightmare start in the opener of their three-game road series against the first-place Texas Rangers. After a long rain delay in the first inning, the Halos got whomped on by the ferocious Texas offense in route to taking the 10-3 loss.

After sitting out the rain, Angels starter C.J. Wilson recorded just one out before leaving the game. Jerome Williams came in for mop-up duty and the Halos surrendered six runs in the first inning, three of which were charged to Wilson, who had possibly the most brutal return imaginable to his former home stadium.

Williams ended up going 6.2 innings, giving up six earned runs on 11 hits and two walks. He also served up three home runs, two of which were solo shots by Josh Hamilton, who continued his ridiculous hot streak and now has 17 round-trippers in 2012. In the second week of May.

The Angels did manage to pick up two runs in the top of the third inning on the second home run of the year from Mike Trout. A home run by Torii Hunter in the top of the sixth (Hunter's fifth of the season) made the score 9-3, but the damage had been done from the very first inning.

Los Angeles managed just six hits off of Rangers pitching and only three off of starter Yu Darvish. Two of those six hits were from Trout and none were from Albert Pujols.

The Angels will try to regroup and even the series on Saturday.
