Angels Vs. Twins, Game 2 Final Score: Jerome Williams Throws 3-Hitter In 4-0 Win

So far, May is starting out much better for the Los Angeles Angels than April did. The Halos played the second game of a homestand opener against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night and had little problem holding down a 4-0 victory, clinching the team just their second series win of the season.

Starter Jerome Williams was magnificent, easily wiping away the bad taste of his first two problematic starts with a gem of a complete game shutout, surrendering just three hits and one walk, while striking out six. Williams' record improves to 2-1 and his ERA lowers to 3.55. The three hits allowed to the Twins were all singles.

The Halos did all of their scoring in the second and third innings. Torii Hunter stayed red-hot, hitting his fourth home run of the year to lead off the bottom of the second. Two batters later, Howie Kendrick would add a solo shot of his own. In the third, Albert Pujols drove in Chris Iannetta with a groundout to the left side, after which Hunter would single in Mike Trout. Kendrick was 3-for-4 with a home run and a triple, while Pujols was again hitless, but picked up his fifth RBI of the season.

The Angels will go for their first series sweep of 2012 on Wednesday.
