Angels Spring Training 2012: Albert Pujols Homers In 3-3 Tie Against Cubs

Stay connected for news and updates

The Los Angeles Angels are winding down their Sprint Training, but Albert Pujols, as expected, appears to already be in mid-season form. The Angels' new superstar slugger belted his second home run in as many days as the Halos went to a 10-inning, 3-3 tie against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.

Pujols blasted the first pitch he saw in the first inning for his sixth home run of the spring. He is batting .407 with 17 RBI in the Cactus League.

Garrett Richards and Jerome Williams are both vying for the Angels' fifth-starter job, and both pitchers had solid outings on Saturday. In the game against the Cubs, Richards got the start and gave up three runs in six innings, two of which were earned runs. Meanwhile, in a minor league game, Williams gave up one run on three hits while striking out five.
