The Los Angeles Angels added another piece to their 2012 team puzzle on Friday when they signed 39-year-old right-handed reliever Jason Isringhausen.

According to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, Isringhausen will officially be a member of the Angels on Opening Day after signing a major league contract with the team. He will receive the base major league salary of $650,000.

Halos general manager Jerry Dipoto stated that the team was impressed with how the reliever looked while pitching on back-to-back days. Isringhausen had a pair of three-up, three-down innings on Wednesday and Thursday.

"Jerry called me [Thursday] night," said Isringhausen, who was in camp on a minor league deal. "I thanked him for the opportunity and told him I'll give him everything I've got."

Isringhausen last played with the New York Mets in 2011 and has exactly 300 career saves.
